You can download a standalone utility from vmware.com http://download3.vmware.com/software/wkst/VMware-guest64check-6.0.0-45731.exe to check machine your machine is 64-bit compatible then to confirm whether Virtualization Technology (VT) is enabled or not. you must enable Virtualization Technology (VT). You can enable VT in the BIOS by going to advanced processor features and enabling Intel Virtualization Technology.
Alternatively, you can download Intel® Processor Identification Utility - Windows* Version from http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?ProductID=1881&DwnldID=7838 to check to see if the processor in the system you are using supports Intel® VT
